8" scissors are easy to control for curves and smaller pieces. 10" is the most popular all-round size for dressmaking. 12" shears make long, straight cuts through thicker or layered fabric quicker.
Choose our heavy duty tailor scissors or the premium J2 steel shears in 10" or 12". Their longer, thicker blades are made for heavier materials.
Yes – true left-handed tailor shears in 10", and as an 8" and 10" set. The blades are reversed so you can see your cutting line.
A set gives you a size for each job and costs less than buying the scissors one by one. Our sets come in 2, 3 and 5-piece options.
Use them only on fabric, as paper and card blunt the blades quickly. Wipe the blades after use and store them dry.
UK delivery is free and orders are dispatched within 1 working day. Trade and wholesale orders for workrooms and schools are welcome.
8" shears are easy to control for detailed work and everyday dressmaking. 10" shears suit most fabrics and longer cuts. 12" shears are best for large pattern pieces, heavy multi-layer fabrics, carpet and upholstery. If you cut a bit of everything, a set gives you the right size for every job.
Standard scissors hide the cutting line from a left-handed user and push the blades apart, so the fabric folds instead of cutting cleanly. True left-handed shears have the blades reversed, giving a clear view of the line and a clean cut.
Keep fabric scissors for fabric only, wipe the blades clean and dry after use, and store them closed. A drop of oil on the pivot now and then keeps the action smooth.
