Dental extraction instruments: FAQs

What is the difference between a luxator and an elevator?

Both are used to loosen a tooth in its socket. A luxator has a thinner, sharper blade that is worked into the periodontal space, while an elevator has a stronger blade designed to be rotated. Our guide explains when each is used.

What is a periotome?

A periotome has a very thin, fine blade for working into the periodontal space. It is often used alongside luxators and elevators.

Is a kit better value than single instruments?

Yes. Our 8 and 10-piece kits give you a range of blade widths and shapes in one case, and cost less than buying each instrument separately.

Who are these instruments for?

They are sold for professional, veterinary, training and educational use, such as dental clinics, dental labs, universities and students.

How quickly will my order arrive?

UK delivery is free and orders are dispatched within 1 working day. Bulk orders for clinics and universities are welcome.
