2" 3" 4" set Ceramic Crucible Melting Bowl Dish Melt Casting Metal Gold Copper

A set of three ceramic melting dishes in 2", 3" and 4" sizes for melting gold, silver, brass, copper and other metals. They are made from clay-bonded, high-grade fused silica and withstand temperatures up to 1371°C (2500°F), so they cope comfortably with torch melting at the bench.

Each dish has a pouring spout for a clean, controlled pour into an ingot mould or casting flask, and can be held with tongs or a whip handle. Pre-heating the dish and glazing it with borax before first use helps it last much longer.

First use

Pre-heat the dish gently, then coat the inside with borax while hot to glaze it. Re-glaze as needed, and use a separate dish for each metal to avoid contamination.
