The NS Crafts® Ceramic Crucible Set 2", 3" & 4" with 2 Whip Tong Handles is made for jewellers, goldsmiths, metalworkers and hobby makers. Fused silica ceramic crucible dishes for torch melting gold, silver, copper and brass at the bench. They handle high temperatures, heat evenly and have a pouring spout for a clean, controlled pour into ingot moulds or casting flasks.

What's included

  • 1 x 2" (100 g) ceramic crucible dish – outside 5.2 cm, inside 4.5 cm, height 2.1 cm, with pouring spout
  • 1 x 3" (250 g) ceramic crucible dish – outside 7.6 cm, inside 6.8 cm, height 3.7 cm, with pouring spout
  • 1 x 4" (550 g) ceramic crucible dish – outside 10.2 cm, inside 9 cm, height 4.2 cm, with pouring spout
  • 2 x Whip tong handle, 24 cm (9.5") spring steel, grips the dish securely for pouring

Getting the best from your ceramic crucible

Before first use, glaze the inside with borax: warm the dish with your torch, sprinkle in borax and melt it into a thin layer. This seasoning protects the dish and helps the metal pour cleanly. Keep a separate dish for each metal to avoid contamination.
