The NS Crafts® Double Sided Wire Ingot Mould is made for jewellers, goldsmiths, metalworkers and hobby makers. A double-sided cast iron ingot mould for pouring molten gold, silver and copper into wire ingots. One side has four narrow slots for wire, the other has two wider slots for thicker bars.
Key features
- Mould 22 x 7 cm, 33 cm long including handle, 2 cm high
- Side one: slots of 0.7, 1, 1.2 and 1.8 cm, 1 cm deep
- Side two: slots of 2.3 and 2.7 cm
- Solid cast iron for even cooling
- Pre-heat and lightly oil or smoke the mould before pouring
Getting the best from your ingot mould
Warm the mould before pouring and lightly oil or smoke the cavity with a sooty flame. Pour steadily, let the metal set, then turn the mould over to release the ingot. A warm, dry mould gives smoother ingots with fewer cold-shut marks.
